Please Dumb Down My Video Games for Me, Thanks

Impetuous on the internet about how precisely games are being “dumbed” down and simplified is the… erm.. rage today. pokemon hacked roms

Hordes of “hardcore” game enthusiasts flock to gaming message boards and mourn the fatality of games that may hold the players side and cannot be completed in 7-10 hours of playing. 

They say that the “console kids” these days, with their aversion for anything challenging has wrecked game design and switched most contemporary games into;
“click this button to win. No, not that button, over here. Appear, this button he… Hardly ever mind, I’ll undertake it for you *click*”.

I will admit something to you. I actually *like* that games are getting to be more everyday friendly and they do an improved job of introducing the player to game mechanics and how everything works in the game.

I have always been almost 30 years old and have been doing offers since I was 5 (that was on a C64, speak about a non-user friendly machine).

I have a full time job and a lady friend and I have lots of real life obligations this means I cannot spend everywhere near the amount of time playing video gaming that I could (and did) when I was a kid or teenager.

On the other hand, I have far more money to spend than Used to do as a kid, so buying/renting new games is much less of an issue for me, than it was 15-20 years back.

If I am blessed Let me have maybe an hour or two at night on weekdays and maybe 2 or 3 hours in the weekend that I actually can use for winning contests.

That gives me someplace around maybe 10-12 several hours of gaming a week on average.

Having recently been a game aficionado since before I could read, I really love online video games and I generally want to try away many different games, even if they are not exactly inside my normal wheelhouse genre.

Throughout a week My spouse and i may easily play at least 3-4 different games, especially during a “high” season of releases like Q4 that we have just entered now.

Back in the early 90’s your game would be considered short if it could be designed in less than maybe 20-25 several hours.

I remember the outcry from the gaming community when “Max Payne” launched among the first “Triple A” games with a sub 10 hour long campaign.
Gamers simply performed not feel that we were holding getting enough bang for his or her buck.

I also keep in mind playing X-Com: UFO protection (Which *is* a great game, no argument) and spending at least 10 to 15 hours messing around before I got enough of a grasp of the sport mechanics to not get my butt kicked immediately by the first strange invaders that dropped by.

With my time (and, I know, this is the situation for many “older” gamers that contain grown up and discover their calendars arranged with grocery shopping, business meetings and dinner with the in-laws) now being such a scarce reference, I can simply no longer persuade myself to devote time into a game that will bring knowledge of how to play it properly, a well kept secret.
